New Study Reveals 5 Ways Hybrid Work Promotes Employee Health and Wellness

The Value of Hybrid Work and Work-Life Balance: A Correlation with Employee Health and Well-being

The recent data reveals a strong correlation between hybrid work and a healthy lifestyle, further emphasizing the value of work-life balance in today’s workforce. With the ongoing upheaval in the workplace causing “change fatigue” among employees, the need for a healthy lifestyle has become more important than ever.

According to a report by International Workplace Group, the flexibility of hybrid work allows employees to prioritize their health and well-being, leading to a more productive and focused work environment. The study found that 83% of hybrid workers feel empowered to prioritize their health, 85% believe regular workouts enhance their productivity, and 90% have been able to work out more regularly due to the flexibility of the hybrid model.

Furthermore, the survey revealed that hybrid work saves employees an average of 53 minutes per day, with most workers utilizing this time to work out. This flexibility not only supports fitness goals but also enables employees to lead a healthier lifestyle overall.

Mark Dixon, CEO of International Workplace Group, emphasized the importance of hybrid work in supporting employee health and well-being. He stated, “For many employers, supporting the health and well-being of their people continues to be a top priority. Empowering employees to enhance their quality of life through shortened daily commutes by using the time saved for more physical activity to prioritize fitness is a win-win situation.”

Dixon also highlighted the concept of the “15-minute city living,” where employees have shorter commutes and more time to focus on wellness. By bringing offices and co-working spaces closer to where employees live, employers can help their teams overcome common challenges associated with long commutes and limited time for exercise.

Overall, hybrid work not only benefits employees in terms of health and well-being but also provides organizations with opportunities to recruit diverse talent and reduce costs associated with expensive office spaces. Embracing hybrid work fully can lead to increased flexibility, collaboration, and employee engagement, making businesses better positioned for the future. As the workforce continues to prioritize flexibility and health in job opportunities, hybrid work is set to play a crucial role in talent retention and attraction.
