Introducing the University of Houston’s Center for Excellence in Health Coaching – Empowering Future Health Coaches with Practical Skills and Expert Mentorship
University of Houston Launches Program to Train Health and Wellness Coaches
In a world where health and wellness are at the forefront of everyone’s minds, the demand for health coaches is on the rise. These professionals provide the motivation and encouragement needed for individuals to make positive and lasting changes in their lifestyles. And now, aspiring health coaches can look to the University of Houston Population Health for the training they need to succeed in this booming industry.
This June, UH Population Health will be launching its Center for Excellence in Health Coaching, offering an Integrative Health and Well-Being Certificate. This 10-month online program will provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to become successful health coaches. From understanding the foundations of health coaching to gaining practical experience with real clients, this program prepares students to take the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching exam and become certified health coaches.
What sets UH Population Health’s program apart is its faculty members, who are all certified health coaches themselves. With their guidance and mentorship, students will have the support they need to succeed in the program and beyond. Additionally, graduates of this program will have the practice hours required to sit for the national exam, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.
According to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there will be approximately 6,650 job openings for health coaches annually over the next decade. With the support of UH Chief Population Health Officer Bettina Beech, UH Population Health is committed to training the next generation of health coaches who will make a positive impact in their communities.
As Beech stated, “Health coaches are playing an integral role in people’s lives. This is a rising industry with practitioners providing essential services to communities right here in Houston and throughout the region.” With the ability to help individuals manage chronic diseases and develop health-related goals, health coaches are filling a crucial gap in healthcare.
So, if you’re passionate about helping others lead healthier lives and making a positive impact in your community, consider enrolling in UH Population Health’s Integrative Health and Well-Being Certificate program. Your roadmap to a rewarding career as a health coach starts here.
